1) Real Leather
Leather is an excellent choice because hair and fur can easily be brushed or vacuumed off. Real leather usually can’t be punctured by your pet’s claws although it can be scratched.

2) Microfibre
This wonderfully comfortable synthetic fibre is a cheaper option than leather and is also a good choice for pets. It doesn’t scratch or puncture that easily but that depends on how hard your pet goes at it.
Removing pet hair is easy with a lint roller but due to static buildup can be harder with a brush. Microfiber will stain more easily than leather.
3) Acrylic

Vinyl, PU leather, tweed, silk, chenille, and velvet are fabrics that are not great for recliners and pets.
