A recliner touch sensor switch control is the device that sends commands to your recliner’s motor, or actuator, via touch sensor buttons.
It’s usually located under your recliner and connected to both the button switch and actuator. If your recliner buttons aren’t working it’s possible that the either the touch sensor switch control or touch sensor buttons need replacing.
Sometimes simply unplugging the power, then disconnecting and reconnecting the cables between the switch control, button switch and actuator can reset and fix any problems. If not then replacements parts are not expensive. Learn more about how to fix a touch button power recliner.
What Are Recliner Touch Sensor Buttons?
A touch sensitive button is simply a button that can be activated by touching or pressing it with your finger. Touch sensitive buttons are also used in devices like smartphones and tablets.
They are also known as capacitive buttons. A capacitive button has a small layer of material that acts as a conductor. When the conductor is touched, it sends an electric current to the circuit board which then activates the device.
Usually no force is needed to activate the button, just contact with the button’s surface is enough.
